Presence is more important than the pendulum

I chose the name Pendulum Presence for obvious reasons. So far I’ve talked more about the ‘pendulum’ part, but to be honest, it would all be nothing without the ‘presence’ part. By ‘presence’ I refer to my own state of being, as well as the state of being that is being of service to a client.

Like most people, I am no stranger to difficult periods and experiences: times when I am reliving past events either with regret or a sense of loss, or I’m focusing on the future with concern or even excitement. It has taken years to truly appreciate that all we have is this present moment - the now. I work hard every day to anchor myself in my present moment - nurturing my own presence. Through various spiritual and holistic practices, I consciously bring myself back to the now whenever I realise I’m thinking ahead or looking behind. Helping others to do this is one of my goals in Pendulum Presence.

As part of this work, I need to be an anchor for others. People don’t come to me if they are carefree after all - there is usually an issue that is bothering them, and this issue can, amongst other things like pain and worry, be causing them to lose their own sense of presence, or being in the now. So it is part of my role to anchor them in the present moment. The pendulum can assist, but without my presence, it’s just a pretty thing on a chain…
